The Trees are Starting to Bloom
Spring is really in the air here in Windy Woods, the trees are starting to bloom. Now comes the time to worry and fret, as it's still possible to get a hard freeze.

Pear Tree Buds
The pear tree doesn't look like it's quite ready to open yet, but it's getting there.

Apple Tree Leaf Buds
The apple tree is peaking out a little. Sorry that it's blurry, but an iPhone does not do closeups well.

Dandelion
The dandelions are in full bloom … all over.

Wild Cherry Leaf Buds
The wild cherry is starting to open, hopefully we'll see a lot of pretty blooms soon.

Quaking Aspen Blossom
The quaking aspen (aka popple) is in bloom.

More Wild Cherry
Really not the greatest pictures, but they should give you an idea about the sense of waiting. Any day now I expect to pull into the driveway and see the apple and pear trees in full flower. I must remember to get pictures this year.
Which brings me to other Windy Woods news. We're setting it up for the children to post their own blog posts for their 4H projects, so look for those to be here soon. We got exciting news on that front today, but I don't want to spoil someone else story.
We're preparing to head into my second favorite time of the year. The leaves come out, the land turns green, and the mosquito's run riot. Oh, wait, don't much care for that last part.
Hopefully the bats will return soon too.
